buttons to use to start a forum

Hi,

Earlier I wanted to start a forum under the forums tab, but it took me a long time to finally find a way to post.  On the "forums" landing page, the most eye-catching icon for this posting feature is the big green "contribute in our forums" on the upper left corner, but it's not an enabled hypertext.  However, on the page we are on right now, under the "Ideas" tab, "suggest your idea" is a hypertext. 

For usability and consistency, I would like to suggest to make the "contribute in our forums" a hypertext to the forum posting page.

This is a great suggestion. I couldn't agree more that UI consistency is very important.

Hi Jacqueline Thanks for the suggestions. MikeW is right that UI consistency is important, however in this case there would be a little more involved in the experience for Lithosphere than linking that block to the forum post page. The Ideas area is really one community group with no sub categories, so all the posts live at one level - the Forums area has a number of boards, including 2 public forums, the events forums, as well as private areas too. The experience would have to take into account 'where do I want to post?' as the next step. I agree that making contributions to the community easy is a big goal, and we'll be looking at a revision to the design of the Lithosphere pretty soon, and I will definitely include this design philosophy.
