Giving a Sort Order to Floated Threads

Status: Future Review

We've always found it difficult to manage the sequence of floated threads within a board, which makes it hard for a new user to understand what they should read first.

Is it possible to give moderators control of the display order floated threads, deciding which appears first, second and third, etc?

One of the reasons "floating threads" is used is to bubble up important threads that you want users to look at in your community, like FAQs, announcements etc. If that's the purpose, I'd recommend using the 'featured threads' feature to accomplish the same goal.

Roughly, how many threads in a board do you float? Regardless of the number, I think it actually makes sense to have a portlet that lists specific threads that you want users to first look at.
