Deeper Twitter (Tweet or ReTweet) integratio n for Blogs/Foru ms

I don't know about you, but we are integrating Twitter pretty heavily into our community suite, and we'd really like to see a more visible option to tweet about (or retweet) a blog article (than is available in the current Share module.
I really like the BackType 'Tweetcount' feature for Wordpress blogs, which gives you the ability to twitter about the article, or retweet it, as well as showing how many people have done it already.
I'd like to see the (optional) ability to turn a feature like this on for a blog, and help in the syndication and promotion of our content.

hey bladefrog. Definitely would like that ability too. Right now we are integrating the out of the box twitter widget supplied by twitter on our blog's sidenav. check out http://developer.motorola.com/blog

djksar - yeah, we have thought of playing around with that too, but right now our RHS is a little heavy already. I would really like to see the ability to twitter about the article from the body area somehow. Now you have me thinking we should tweak our design a little more!

bladefrog, I love this idea. Its along the same lines of what techmeme.com does, where the hottest stories on Twitter are displayed and people can tweet/retweet it. It also displays how many tweets one has. I think it would be really cool to have something like top tweeted forum content and options for users to easily retweet that. It broadcasts to a wider network and expands your reach in a really simple way.
I would love to hear more around this.
