To my mind, "flag for a moderator" is an almost perfectly meaningless phrase - in that it could mean whatever the user imagines it means.
I totally agree with this statement.
What are you flagging it for? Because you think it's a good post?
Because it's fraudulent? In the wrong board? It can be taken too many ways.
Report abuse is just more to the point. And, it's still reflected as this on the back end.
In the notifications section of the admin console, "Abuse Report Board ID" is there.
Not "Flag for Moderator Board ID". This in my opinion reflects what the fuction truly is. Abuse.
My 2 cents for what it's worth ![]()

I am glad I stumbled on this thread. There are some good arguments here, some of which I hadn't considered in much detail.
Having thought about it, I think my opinion is swinging away from the "flag a moderator" option.
We are looking to upgrade to v9 anytime now and I noticed the wording has changed away from "report abuse". I feel a conversation with my CSM coming on. ![]()
Across some of our other platforms, our preference is to use the term "grief report".
In terms of a feature request, I believe it would be useful to include some explanatory text at the top of the report form, in which Admins can clearly state the circumstances under which the report links should be used.
