Hi there, and early apologies if this is the wrong forum.
Our company uses a lithium-powered forum, and while using it, I've noticed something strange that I've never seen anywhere else before. When you use ctrl+backspace to delete an entire word, the cursor position blinks as if it's in the correct position (doesn't consume the space), but as soon as you type something, the space shows as being deleted, so if I were to type:
this is a test
Then hit ctrl + backspace, it would show
this is a | (where the vertical bar is the cursor)
If I were then to start typing again and type the word test, it would display as
this is atest
I've dug through my own personal settings to see if there was anything I changed, and I know on this forum it works as expected, but as I tend to use ctrl+backspace very frequently (I find it's faster for me to erase the whole word if I make a typo), this really drops my typing speed on our forums. Has anyone seen this before or have any ideas what I can do to fix/change it?
We keep getting reports of this occuring on our boards as well. We have even captured video footage of it happening.
I know it is a devil to reproduce, so Kudos to you for finding a reliable way of reproducing it!
Thanks,
Hi KevinO!
First of all, thanks for the keyboard shortcut! I've never known you could use CTRL-Backspace to delete the previous word - I've used the CTRL and arrow keys plenty but never with backspace. ![]()
But back to the issue at hand, I have a couple of questions to help isolate this further:
What web browsers do you use and what versions? Does it happen for some and not others?
Does it happen every time on your community using the steps above, or does it come and go?
Also, you stated you've experienced the problem on your community and not on the Lithosphere? I wonder if there are differences either in the version, or some other customizations that might be a factor. Your CSM would be the best person to start that investigation with - have you opened a case?
