Category showing all boards?

09-02-2009 12:41 PM

Can I set up certain categories to not show all boards?

We have one that contains all boards from our migration and for those that have access to see it, it shows all boards within in it. Clutters up the whole main page.

Is there a way to set this to only show cat name. Once clicked you see all boards?

I've been through the Admin console a dozen times and just don't see this. Any thoughts?

Many thanks

John,

Great question, and one that can probably benefit a lot of Community Managers looking to save space!

In the Community Admin, navigate to the category that you wish to collapse and navigate to:

Layout Settings > Display Settings > Category Display Type > Select "Link" > Save Changes

Hope that helps! :smileyhappy:

Brian,

I have done this many times but it just doesn't seem to want to work for me.

Doing this exactly as described. Logging in as my test 'newbie' gives me the same result.

Can I possibly be missing a step?

Thanks

John,

Hmm, that suggests to me that it could be because you have a custom skin or configuration on stage - just guessing. Your best bet is to reach out to your CSM on this one.

Be sure to post back with the solution, I'd be interested to know!

Brian,

Seems to be a bug according to PW and tech. Waiting on fix.
