Allow larger icons/avatars?

01-30-2009 02:09 PM

Hi there,

This is probably a really simple config setting that I'm overlooking...but how do you allow members to use a bigger icon/avatar?  I was going to update my avatar in our community--to encourage folks to consider using the new custom image icon functionality, but it's SO small.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Roxy

Hmm, I'm not really sure about that. :smileyhappy: The default icon size is incredibly small though, isn't it?

The first thing you want to do is go to the Admin under General Settings > User Profile Settings and check Allow custom icon sizes, and then change the max custom icon width and height.

Once you do that, users will have the option to change the settings in their own profiles under Icons.  You can't leave out that second step of changing it in your own profile, though.

Thanks, Lynne! :smileyhappy: The part about the user changing it in the profile is what was causing the trouble.

Lynn,

I'm not seeing that option in the spot you described. Is this an older version thing?

Just checking because I don't want to miss anything.

Thanks
